Fold to Center gets romantic on Venice...
While exploring Venezia this spring, I took special care to seek out the Palazzo Pesaro degli Orfei for the exhibit, A World of Paper: Isabelle de Borchgrave encounters Mariano Fortuny. I set out down narrow streets before finding the secluded Campo San Beneto and an unassuming door marking the Museo Fortuny. With my curiosity and a small brochure in-hand touting, "the eight-plus pieces in this show are all made of paper," I made my way into the three-story palazzo-turned-museum. Isabelle de Borchgrave's contemporary paper installation plays in and among Fortuny's renowned fabrics, paintings and artifacts as if in a dream--and radiates what seems to be a magical energy in a colossal space.
